Job Title: Land Surveyor
Position Overview:
The Land Surveyor is responsible for performing and supporting a wide range of surveying services, including both field and office work. This role includes data collection, analysis, and preparation of survey deliverables, with a transition toward increased office responsibilities and project coordination over time.
Responsibilities
- Perform boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, and related fieldwork
- Prepare legal descriptions and perform calculations
- Assist with project management tasks including proposals, scheduling, and client communication
- Review field data and survey deliverables for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with survey technicians and field crews to ensure efficient project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related field
- Licensed or ability to obtain Professional Surveyor licensure in Michigan within two years
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and modern survey equipment (GPS/GNSS, total stations)
- Minimum of two years of relevant surveying experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, technologies, and regulatory requirements
